SYNTAX AS A FOUNDATION FOR IMPROVING GRAMMAR ACCURACY IN THE ENGLISH CLASSROOM

Syntax is fundamental to language learning, particularly for enhancing grammar accuracy in
English classrooms. This article examines how syntactic knowledge enables students to construct
grammatically correct and meaningful sentences, thus improving their communication skills.
Using a literature review method, this study synthesizes findings from various research studies
and theoretical frameworks to explore the role of syntax in English language teaching. The
analysis highlights the benefits of explicit syntax instruction, which helps reduce common
grammatical errors, including subject-verb disagreement, misplaced modifiers, and sentence
fragments. Practical recommendations for integrating syntax into classroom practices are
provided, emphasizing the use of digital tools and interactive methods. This article contributes to
the field of English language teaching by underscoring the importance of syntax in achieving
